This season Spyder revised the fabric and switched out the old nylon semi-dull faille weave for a new nylon mini twill, replacing the classic Thinsulate insulation with a new Thinsulate Lite Loft to help trap insulating air and reflect radiant body heat. Compared with equal weights of down or other polyester insulation, Thinsulate Lite Loft typically keeps you twice as warm as the other stuff. The Spyder Coach's Jacket features a removable and fully adjustable heavy weather hood with cored adjustments. If you don't want to wear the hood, take it off and stow it inside one of the roomy pockets. Waterproof zippers on the chest pockets make it easy to keep your notes and electronics dry during rainy days. Inside you'll find an internal drawcord and internal mesh goggle pocket. One frequent Spyder jacket feature that you won't find is zippered vents beneath the sleeves--that's because the Coach's Jacket is outerwear designed for a slower pace with plenty of stops on the slope, but you'll appreciate the data card pocket for those contests at the upscale ski resort courses.
