Perfect Under-Helmet Layer
We bought this for our 2-year-old son to wear under his ski helmet. It is difficult to find a balaclava that is thin enough to actually fit comfortably under a snug-fitting helmet, and this one does! The top material is thin, but not too thin, and seems to help keep his ears warm. The bottom material is very soft, warm, and breathable. Our son doesn't mind it over his mouth and cheeks, which is really important! We love that it keeps the elements off of his neck, since he can't wear a hood with his helmet. The cost is higher than most, but worth the money to have something that fits well and does its job. You could also easily add another separate neck warmer over it (it wouldn't be too bulky) if the weather is really brutal. He also happens to love the spider web design on the hood!
