You can not lose with this tent.
I've never been so excited about a new tent. I purchased this tent because by family has grown out of our other backpacking tents. I needed a tent that provided enough room for two adults and at least 3 kids (under 7 years old). The tent had to be ultralight because when I backback with my kids I end up carrying 95% of our gear. I narrowed my choices down to this tent and the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL4 Tent. The Big Agnes almost won the day because of its weight, but I had a real hard time with the price on the Big Agnes. In addition, I have had a lot of experience with Sierra Designs and they have never disappointed me. Before I purchased this SD I knew that there were some features of the SD that I really liked. The D doors are critical for me. I hate when tent doors fall in the dirt and get stepped on (with little kids this happens all the time with traditional doors). I also like that this tent has a main vesti with 17.5 sq ft. This makes the vesti very easy to use. The rear vesti with 10 sq ft is nice for smaller things like shoes, though I easily put three empty packs in the rear vesti this last weekend. Now to the heart of my review. This is the first SD tent I've owned with Jake's Foot. This rocks! It makes set-up a snap (once you learn how it works) and it is very sleek. No more multiple webbing loops to attach to a single stake. Also, when I was packing up and I lifted my tent to shake the dirt out, the footprint lifted right up with the tent which was nice when I set the tent back down in the dirt. The size of the tent is great, there is plenty of room for my use as described earlier. There is also plenty of room to get the group together inside the tent to play a game or talk out a rain storm. Six adults can relax in the tent without problems. I love this tent and given that it is and SD, I expect to get years of awesome use out of it.
