Excellent for lighter or compact expert freeriders, Salomon's STH 14 B100 ski binding offers the same exceptional performance features found in the STH 16 series, but it doesn't have the stratospheric DIN range. That's okay if you weigh less than 200 lbs. or you don't need the extra tension. Salomon recently reinforced their freestyle bindings with metallic reinforced heels and toe units, but kept the same articulated tracks and big-air stomp pedals. If you need the executive summary: The STH 14 B100 remains one of the strongest and lightest binding designs ever created for wide-waist skis. That means more frequent flyer time and no moments wasted on fiddling with flimsy components that were never designed to withstand the impacts of extreme landings. The STH 14 B100 sports Salomon's High Lateral performance transmission with precise, Micro Simultaneous wing adjustments. The diagonal pivot release system is critical for freestyle skiers who sometimes get moves so wrong that they need to bail safely at all angles. Keep in mind that the brake bar width on this binding is 100 millimeters. If you have a wider-waist freestyle powder plank, you might need to consider one of Salomon's STH series bindings equipped with a wider brake bar.
