Salomon XA Comp 5 GTX trail shoe review
The Salomon XA Comp 5 GTX trail shoe is an overall good product. My first run with them was an absolute pleasure. They're lightweight and very comfortable. The shoe is mostly composed of gore-tex mesh so they breathe well and are LIGHT! The grip of the sole is good for trails that are light to medium level technically. I really love the quick-draw string lacing that makes them very easy to get on and off. The shoes have a sleek good look too. I definitely recommend them. The shoes do run a little small. (I'm 5'10"/140 lbs.) They are also not a sturdy rigid shoe for highly technical trails. Put these shoes on your feet and you won't have to think about your shoes so you can concentrate on your run instead!

comfortable and convenient
These shoes are great for a jog in the park or a day hike. They are comfortable and have an easy lace-up system. They offer enough support for hiking with a light pack. I have never had any issues with the waterproofing, even when standing in a brook, so long as the water doesn't come over the ankle. If they do get soaked because water comes in over the ankle, they take quite a while to dry out, but that is not a huge drawback.
