While Salomon's advanced adult skis have a wood core, the Threat ski has a proven composite fiber core that absorbs the vibrations and shock of unanticipated (or unseen) undulations in the snow. This change in the design won't hinder the performance of lighter skiers, but it will enhance the stability at speed, which is critical sometimes when a young rider has second thoughts on approaching a jump or berm.
