Providing a classic trail running fit, the new Salomon Fastpacker Hiking Shoe for men is a lightweight terra package with low profile chassis providing exceptional close to the ground stability. Offering excellent protection and forefoot agility without compromising flexibility and ground feeling, the comfortable 3D advanced Chassis combines with a Quicklace kevlar lacing system for a performance fit. A breathable anti-debris fabric that keeps dirt and sand out blends with a gusseted tongue, rubber toe cap, mud guard wrap and heel cap for added foot protection. The Ortholite footbed that is odor reducing anti-microbial provides step in comfort and enhanced durability by using a combination of special PU and rubber crumbs. A Contragrip rubber outsole offers excellent grip on mixed terrain with reliable braking lugs in a multidirectional design. The Fastpacker is ideal for lightweight backpacking, hiking, adventure racing, and rugged trail running.

Top quality shoe
I am a big fan of Salomon and this shoe has not let me down. I wore them out of the box on a long trek with no comfort issues. Great shoe at a great price.

Great Shoes
This shoe was one of the lightest most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned. I highly recommend them.

Salomon hits it square
these are great low cut hikers for everyday hiking. Just stiff enough to handle rough terrain but coomfortable enough right out of the box to be used immediately. Even under a fairly heavy load these hikers do the job. I am a pretty diehard Salomon boot/shoe fan and these hold true to what I've experienced with other Salomon models. Quite good!

A bit thick for technical but..
Overall the Fastpacker is a very good overall hiking shoe. Some other Salomons I have worn are better for class four climbing, these are very knobby on the sole. I have designated these as a camping or day hike shoe.

Good shoe
Salomon has produced another good shoe. Similar to the XA models, but with a bit more padding. Sizing is in line with other Salomon models, but the right shoes feels 'different' around the ankle. Time will only tell if this difference is going to be annoying.
