nice collar
Easy to put on. Seems secure - doesn't loosen when the dog pulls on the leash. Nice and lightweight. Although strong, our collar has at least one hole in it already after only a few days. (I have 2 8-month pups who "wrestle" with each other.) I like the heavy duty hardware, too. Overall - a very good collar.

Stylish and secure.
I bought this collar for Jake, a muscular 75 lbs Lab/Rottie mix, who isn't done growing yet. I also bought the double-back leash for him as well. I wanted something that I didn't have to worry about him breaking or slipping out of when we're in the backcountry for days at a time. We haven't put it to the test in the wilds yet, but on his daily walks, this collar has provided me with the peace of mind that I was looking for. When hooked to the double-back leash, I don't see how he could ever get out of this collar, or break either item. Also, the separate "D ring" for his tags makes our walks a little quieter, this feature also makes it easier to attach and detach his leash. As an added bonus, the light green gives this very intimidating gentle-giant a little bit of a friendly look and he looks just like the dog on the logo to boot. In conclusion, I really like the double-back collar and would recommend it to anyone looking for a very strong collar for a large dog. In fact, I would recommend any product made by Ruffwear. Period.

Love it but not sure
Got this collqr due ro an economicql value with the roamer i got. I wanted to match those two colors. Good things, Its definitely easier to adjust than what i have read in the review. I have 16lb westie who is a year and a half old. We live in a city and walk 3times a day. Since the collar is long i was worried about the leftover collar lenthgth but it was nicely tucked in on the third plastic holder. It overlaps the name tag ring but it was better that way to keep the name tag dagling and making sound. Also once it is adjusted u dont have to worry about losing the collar cause it wont come off. The strap end is nicely coated so it seems durable, One thing i was not sure of the thickness because it was very thin and also quite wide for my westie so i am a bit concern whether it Is irritating her skin or not. If ur dog has a longer neck, probaby it is better and other than the thickness and width, i think it would be good for a dog, sizing from beagle.. Westie might be a bit smalle for it. But going to keep it on for my westie cause of value and the matching color with my roamer.

It's Good but not Great
About six months ago my Hound got a little crazy and actually broke the plastic buckle on her old collar. I use a Ruffwear Harness on her when we walk so I decided to give this collar a try. So far it has held up and I doubt she could ever break it. This is a very good and tough dog collar. I have two negatives with this collar though, first complaint and its minor is adjusting the collar, its a bit of a pain. And the other is it never stays snug around my hounds neck for very long. She has backed out of it twice now and I have no idea why it slowly loosens. That's the only reason it's not great.

Great collar
Like most Ruffwear products the quality is great. Our German Shorthair has everything from leashes and collars to a pack. So far everything has held up really well and until something fails we'll keep buying Ruffwear stuff. If I could change one thing -- I wish it would have been a 1" wide collar as opposed to the 3/4" that it is. Just to help distribute pressure a little better around the dogs neck. Pup doesn't seem to mind though. Overall - 4.5 out of 5.
