Burton Pure helmet
I bought this for my wife, who provided the rating. I have the men's and love it. It will keep your nugget warm but can be vented as well. You can also easily remove the ear pads if they are too warm. The only thing I would change is the ear pad lock-in design; they may tend to slip out if the tab isn't tucked in snug.

Loving this helmet!
My old helmet had been around for at least 4 years, so when I decided to get a new one, I came to altrec.com and browsed around, and this helmet seemed to fit my needs. I used the sizing guide and measured the circumference of my head, and found that I was between the small and the medium. As recommended for being between sizes, I went up to the next size (medium) and couldn't be happier. The helmet fits like a dream! I did need to use some of the extra padding that came in the box in order to perfect the fit, but now it is perfect. Also, the goggle gasket (attaches to the front inside of the helmet and covers the open space between your forehead and your goggles) is WONDERFUL. No more cold forehead! The helmet also comes with Burton's headphone system, which works to keep my ears warm in the absence of actual music. Finally, the double vents (front and back) came in handy on my Christmas trip...on the cold, windy day I closed them up and stayed toasty, and on the warmer, sunnier day, I was able to open them up and stay cool! All in all, this is a great helmet with a cool look that is fully functional and will keep you safe to snowboard all winter long. Oh, and PS, the reason why I only gave 4/5 for durability was that my brother-in-law dropped it on the ground outside in the parking lot and it got a few dark marks on it...however that may just be the white color of the helmet I got, and seems to be purely cosmetic durability issues.

Great helmet
I bought this helmet for my daughter. She snowboards at Christmastime every year, the Burton helmet is highly recommended! The quality & value are hard to beat, thanks Altrec!
