Offering even more versatility than the previous Tikka head lamp model, the Petzl Tikka 2 was completely reengineered for this season. Designed with 4 LEDs and 3 lighting modes, the Tikka 2 can switch between maximum, economic, and flashing modes with just the click of a simple electronic push-button switch. Similar to the Petzl Tikkina and Tikkina Plus headlight headlamps, the Tikka 2 delivers a maximum beam distance of 29 meters with 4 LEDs. With a new hinged battery compartment that opens wide, there is no more fumbling to close your headlamp like on older models. Equipped with 4 new and improved LEDs, the Tikka 2 optimizes burn-time and is compatible with lithium batteries. If you are looking for a small, lightweight, energy efficient headlamp that doesn't compromise visibility, the Petzl Tikka 2 will deliver. Other LED headlamps you might be interested in are the Petzl Zipka, the Petzl Zipka Plus, Petzl Tikkina 2 and the Petzl Myo XP.

This is all the headlamp most will ever need.
I know there are more expensive headlamps on the market, but this one has plenty of power and I've had no issues with build quality, so I really have no interest in upgrading. When using the high setting this thing is quite bright, and even on low it produces more than enough light for nighttime walking and jogging or for use around camp. The batteries last a long time too. I've had mine for a few months now and I have yet to change them; and, though the light is understandably going to be slightly dimmer now than when they were fresh, it's still plenty bright enough for me. Sure, you can buy a more powerful headlamp, but this one really is impressive. Stop mulling it over and just buy one -- I'm sure you'll be satisfied.
Good all-purpose headlamp
I bought this headlamp to replace my previous Petzl that I lost. I took this one on a midnight ascent up half dome and it worked perfectly. After 5 hours of use on full power, there was no decrease in brightness. It's lightweight and stays in place on your forehead. Petzl is the best.
Bright and Light
This headlamp is very comfortable and is quite bright- it fits great on my Black Diamond helmet and on my husband's Petzl helmet. I really like the tilt and the flashing mode makes it a multi-utility headlamp.
i have overall satisfaction with this product
....products is worth its price
an easy-to-get-on-the-head life saving creation.
Because of the wide-soft elastic headband, the lamp feeds through (like a belt feeds through a belt loop) so easily, and the headband also adjusted to my -particular-head size, it is extremely comfortable to wear, not to mention, the light that I so desperately needed was BAM! right there in front of my nose.
