Its descent-oriented features and cold-stopping insulation make this classic down jacket an ally for steep fall lines. The warm Patagonia Pipe Down Jacket for Women has a compressible layer of 600-fill-power down (the hood is insulated, too); chevron quilting throughout minimizes bulk and keeps the down from shifting when your body's in motion. A 100% microdenier polyester ripstop shell has our Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish to stop moisture and increase durability. The soft lining is made from 100% all-recycled polyester that glides smoothly over layers; pit zips keep you ventilated. Fleece at the collar protects your neck from overhead blowback, and the stretchy, removable powder skirt (with webbing loops that connect to any Patagonia Ski/Snowboard pants) seals out snow at the waist. Pocket rundown: two handwarmers, a left chest (holds an audio device) and an interior zippered stash. With feminine shaping.

Patagonia Pipe Down
I purchase the jacket for my girlfriend who wanted a jacket that had a hood and would keep her warm skiing in MT and this jacket fit the bill! Puffier but warmer than the down sweater and over all weight to warmth ratio is awesome!
Warm and comfy - nice fit
I purchased this jacket during the 2009/2010 season in dark dark purple and got compliments all over the place whenever I wore it. I found it to be comfortable, warm, and a great fit, so I ordered the same jacket in cream/winter white at the end of the 2010/2011 season for use next year. I will admit that I've not used this jacket for skiing, but I likely will at some point, and I think it will be great. I really like the fit, as it's not bulky, and is flattering for such a warm coat. I'm 5'8", 135lb, 34b chest, lean build, and the sz M is perfect. I have a very straight figure, so I do not have an issue with the Patagonia fit in the hip or chest area. Highlights are an adjustable fit powder skirt, extra soft and cozy fleece in the hand-warmer pockets and along the neck panel, a warm hood that can easily be worn with or without a helmet (and actually fits really well and doesn't look weird without a helmet), and a mid-length cut that functions well for sport or general wear. I generally think Patagonia is higher priced than other brands for similar products, but this jacket is worth the Patagonia price tag. I live in the Philadelphia suburbs where winters can be windy, cold, and damp (for months), and I've found this coat to be plenty warm when layered with a sweater and tee in windy temps in the teens. Everyone's body is different though, so that's only my experience. I do regularly spend time outside in all seasons.
It is cute jacket!
It is very lucky I've got this jacket! I'm going to Moscow soon and you need something like there over there. I have to be fashionable there too, so it is working for me..Thanks you!
Patagonia pipe down jacket
I love this Patagonia Pipe Down jacket (in natural color) a lot. I always wear it when I walk at night with temperatures around 20s F ~30s F. It keeps me really warm, yet it is light and stylish. It is not bulky at all. I am 5'6" and 130 lbs. I bought a medium size which is teeny weeny tight around my hip (my hip size is 37"). Other than that, it is perfect for me. I may want to order a large size next time (I want to have a black color too).
Excellent winter jacket
Super warm jacket with a great fit. So far just worn around town but hood is large enough to accomodate helmet when skiing.
