Supremely soft, low-bulk but highly insulative zip-T performance base layer for regulating internal
Layer up in Capilene 4 when winter turns snarly. Our zip-neck is designed to make regulating your internal climate easy when you're on the move. Streamlined "barely there" seams cause no chafe while providing a tailored, trim fit. An angled, low-profile zippered chest pocket holds lip balm or MP3 player and can be easily accessed beneath bibs, waders or pack straps. The extra tail length keeps the heat in and the elements out. Made of 50% recycled (and 100% recyclable) polyester from our Common Threads Recycling Program, with a Gladiodor natural odor control finish. Imported. Common Threads Recycling ProgramResearch shows that the environmental impact of recycling worn-out Capilene base layers into new polyester fiber is significantly lower than making that same fiber from virgin materials. Taking into account that worn-out garments are diverted from trash incinerators, making new polyester fiber from recycled garments results in an energy savings of 76% and a CO2 emissions [greenhouse gasses] reduction of 71%, versus creating that fiber from new raw material. Capilene Core PerformanceCapilene base layers afford quick-drying, next-to-skin moisture management for all activities in all conditions ? from high-altitude bivies to sun-soaked water sports. Love the Cap 4!
I absolutely love this top! It is the ideal combination of stretchiness and warmth without being bulky or unflattering (unlike Patagonia's similar-weight R1 Pullover, which is too loose and bunches up so it makes me look/feel fat). Very soft inside, and great for wicking. Fits pretty snug (but stretchy, so not uncomfortable at all) so it layers well over thinner baselayers (like Capilene 1 or 2). I also love the long length since I'm just under 5'10", but shorter ladies may find that a drawback. Hope to purchase the Cap 4 bottoms if they ever go on sale!
My uniform!
I have this in several colors because I live in them from November to March. Wears like iron. Only wish there were more colors like lime or bubblegum pink. Thanks Patagonia!!
Great product
I love the Patagonia Capilene 4 shirt. It is very lightweight but keeps you warm. It fits fairly snug.
I absolutely love my Cap4. From shoveling snow in the dead of winter to sitting outside on a nice fall day, it is a wonderful piece. It does fit a little small but is great as a baselayer and will keep you VERY warm. I've had it for a year and it still looks brand new- the quality is great!
Great product!
Bought the cap 4 as a baselayer for my upcoming trip to Kilimanjaro. I am 5'8, 140 pounds and bought a small. I don't plan to layer underneath it, but will of course be layering on top, so I wanted it to fit close to the body. Length is great to cover my long torso and sleeves are perfect length as well. (I was originally going to go with the cap 3, but oddly, that one seemed to be shorter.) Overall - very satisfied with the purchase.
