Looks sleek; feels sweet. The soft, stretchy, compressible Women's Capilene 4 Expedition Weight Full-Zip Hoody from Patagonia provides unsurpassed warmth for alpine walls or city canyons. It's made with Patagonia's new Capilene 4 Expedition Weight fabric which has the highest thermal performance in the Capilene family. Warmer than the Capilene 4 of season's past, it also breathes better and dries faster. A smooth jersey face glides beneath layers and the brushed fleece interior retains warmth, wicks perspiration, and feels soft against the skin. With thumb loops, offset shoulder and sleeve seams for a smooth ride under pack straps, zippered handwarmer pockets and a slim, 3-panel technical hood. Made with 5.9-oz Polartec Power Dry with Gladiodor odor control for the garment. Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

Wonderful fit!
I have been looking for the perfect fleece--long torso, hood, long arms with thumb holes, super warm--for about a year. This is it! The fit is WONDERFUL! It's long on your torso so you don't get any cold drafts, and the hood fits snugly. If anything, the arms are a little too long, so if that bothers you, then you might want to get a size down. The only thing I can't speak to is how warm it is--it hasn't dropped below 70 since I bought it, so I haven't tried it for heat. I'm 5'7" and 125, and the small fits great.
Great jacket
This is a great jacket. It is comfortable and flattering. The only thing I would change is the thumb holes. When it is cooler, they are great because they help to keep your hands warm, but they look a little strange when you push up your sleeves.
THE BEST!
I am thoroughly enjoying this jacket/baselayer. I never ever want to take it off. The inside is nicely lined with soft fleece and the outer fabric is smooth and non-pilly. I really love the cut on my body and the length of this piece. Wore it touring at Rainier last weekend and it kept me nice and warm the entire time. You will not regret this purchase ever!
Great insulating layer
This is yet another fantastic product from Patagonia. I was kept quite warm at alpine elevations with this and a t-shirt. The interior is very soft and fleecy. It seems very sturdy as well; I had to do some bushwhacking and came out of the woods with no tears or snags. If the weather became frigid or windy, all I'd need was an outer wind shell or insulated parka, depending on the conditions. Highly recommended!
Awesome Purple
First of all, this new purple that Patagonia has been introducing this fall is awesome! Maybe a little too awesome, as now I unexpectedly have added both this Cap 4 Exp Weight Hoody and the R3 Hi-Loft Hoody to my closet because I couldn't resist the purple. I am extremely pleased with both. The Cap 4 Exp Weight reminds me of the Patagonia Velocity Hoody that I have from a couple seasons back. It has a great density to it while being lightweight, and has a flattering long and lean fit. It's also very flexible and cozy--I love the thumbholes. I can say with confidence that I will be utilizing this quite a bit for the upcoming Montana winter.
