The season's most epic day will pass you by if you're shivering and wet on the inside. Patagonia's Men's Rubicon Rider Jacket combines a breathable soft-shell fabric to vent your high-output moisture with stay-warm-when-wet insulation to keep you dry and mobile. The shell is made of supple, 2.4-oz 100% polyester ripstop with a Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish to snub wind and moisture. Inside, a soft layer of compressible 150-g Thermogreen polyester (90% recycled) insulation adds heat to ice-box temperatures. Tough 2-layer panels, made of 150-denier polyester with an H2No waterproof/breathable barrier, beef up the shoulders, elbows and bottom hem to increase storm performance and protect from abrasion. Finer points include underarm venting, an easy-gliding liner, a zip-off powder skirt with webbing loops that attach to any Patagonia Ski/ Snowboard pants, removable hood with a single-hand adjustment, handwarmer pockets, a zippered chest pocket (holds an audio device) and two inside pockets. The women's-specific fit is comfort. Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

Meticulous stitching. Good quality
First, the good products cheaply purchased came in the Glorious. Each meticulously created with a good reputation for quality products. If you bought a little early, dressed to the left lane is a good product, was unhappy. Some other people want to recommend is a product.
This Ruby's no Con...but a Gem
I am 6'2" 175lbs....got the large in black....yes, it is big and boxy..best for cold alpine skiing with big gloves and windy chairlifts when you are trying to unzip or grab the hood..loves bashing the tree runs all day and doesn't snag or tear like my Cloudveil Enclosure Jacket did...amazingly warm despite the ample inside spaces that you would expect to be hard to warm up without adding another layer. so many features....the pockets are right where you want them and swallow gear such as goggles, wallet, ipod, bobo bar, map,and due to the oversizing you can hardly notice that your jacket has become a body pack!....zip off hood and skirt lighten the load (not a featherweight jacket) for around town Monty Wards styling..very unique texture and quilted patterns..pair with OR Odd Job hat and a Cuban and you could down an ole swill in seconds ala Jackie Gleason....Hood fits over ski helmet, bike helmet, climbing helmet....any freakin head covering you have and it cinches down tight. Hood zipped off leaves a nice high collar that almost covers your ears! Pit zips are key to vent off heat...Cons...$ and weight and hem draw cords thru pockets a bit slow to tug and unlock.
Great jacket--must have!
Got this jacket for my partner for christmas. He didn't have a good winter jacket and had been layering with lots of fleeces, sweatshirts and under armour for years. He has worn this on the coldest, windiest, snowing, nastiest days here in Central IL and absolutely loves it. One thing the description didn't note is that the hood is removeable, which is a really nice feature if you want to go out on the town. Very stylish jacket. This must be a snowboarding jacket, because it is very boxy and runs big. He is very slim and athletic, but he likes it.
Have only worn around town so far. Typical well mad Patagonia item. I'm usually a true medium (5'7", 150#) and it fits well. has enough room for a couple layers underneath. Would have liked a two way zipper. Will be trying on the slopes soon.
Very warm jacket
I bought this jacket for my 30 yr old son Christmas of 2008. He lives in Manhatten. Absolutely loves this jacket. He says it is the warmest jacket ever and very comfortable and light. Very happy with this purchase.
