Soft, compressible and windproof--it's the right insulation for nature's windiest spaces.
Lighter than Patagonia's successful Puffball Jacket, the Micro Puff Pullover is a utility backpacking and hiking piece that packs away in a water-resistant stuff sack (included). Patagonia recently redesigned the Micro Puff Pullover with a new shell fabric that stands up to wind, water and abrasion better than previous incarnations. The Polarguard Delta insulation keeps you warm even when the jacket soaks through, making this insulator an ideal back-up piece for climbers and day hikers who travel far in varied weather conditions. The compressible design is also perfect for backpackers and campers seeking warmth after the sun goes down.

This is a great outerware garment/
Very lightweight. Easy on and off over the head due to nice slick lining. Good tight cuff elastics. No pockets for hands, but not a problen is active. Played golf in this jacket on a blustery 45 degree day. Almost too warm. Plenty on room and no restrictions to movement. Great jacket.
Warm, compressible, lightweight
Good for lightweight backpacking. Puffs are sized large so you may layer underneath. Not comparable to a WM down jacket, but an A+ piece of gear for long-distance hikers.
Awesome Layering Piece!
I heard alot about Patagonia's Puff series and was hesistant to buy this pullover because of the steep price tag compared to other similar jackets by other brands. I got the Puff pants for a winter camping trip and was pleased with that enough to pick this item up. This pullover is as light as a wet t-shirt and almost as warm as my MAMMUT Stratus Belay Parka. The warmth & weather resistant technology seems to be magical at first, but its secret lies in the way the pullover sits snug against your body and seal a layer of warm air between your skin and the inner liner of the puff. My only problem is the sizing that Patagonia assigns for the Puff series. Their intention is that these layers are sized one size up (roomy) so that they go over other layers. I find that the pull over works better as a 2nd layer because the outer surface of the pullover is smooth enough to easily slide under outer layers without bunching up. Another reason is the fabric on the outer surface of the puff series is also silky-soft and easily subject to abrasion and snags if worn as an outer layer (especially if you are an occasional bushwacker). I got the Mens Small size and found that it actually fits like a Men's Medium.
great product!
I had used a friend's (produced from nowhere) MicroPuff while shivering at a hanging belay - therefore, field testing done! Useful as a "half-blanket" over the body in a sleeping bag; really a good foot warmer in the bag. Nice stuff bag, and light, light, light... Asked Santa for the complement pants.
just what i wanted.
the micro puff pullover is a light, very compressible pullover. it is extremely warm(almost too warm), while being much thinner than traditional puff jackets. it runs a little bit large, i usually wear large and the medium fits perfectly. it has no hand pockets - i almost got the micropuff jacket because of this but wanted the halfzip and no hood. altrecs service was great when i switched the large for a medium.
