At first glance, the Patagonia Men's Long-Sleeved Cool Shade Shirt looks like a classic, collared, button-front tropical travel shirt. Look a little closer, though, and you see a highly technical, fishing-specific piece of equipment for serious duty in high-sun environments. The all-recycled polyester/nylon yarn-dye blend provides 40-UPF sun protection and all-day comfort. The clean, modern styling features two chest zip pockets sized to fit fly boxes, a breeze-catching vented back and roll-up sleeve tabs. Put it all together and you have the ultimate workhorse for flats, blue-water or high-latitude summer fishing. Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

Great fishing shirt
I'm so glad i didn't send it back. Here in california the sun can beat down on us out there fishing pretty hard. It'd been hot so i bought this shirt thinking it would be nice and cool. Well it's actually much thicker then i had thought and almost sent it back. but i got up to go fishing one morning went down stairs and couldn't find my sweatshirt. So i grabbed this off the the box it came in and put it on. it was great. It kept me warm in the morning when it was 50 degrees out and was great when it was 70. i wouldn't wear it in 80 or 90 degree heat but it's rarely that hot here anyway. the fly box pocket is smaller then any of my fly boxes but i'm sure you could find a small one to fit. also blood washes right out of the shirt and it does dry very quick. Honestly i wouldn't want to be wearing it on the flats in florida or Mexico but it's great for anything around 70. Also with the zipper pockets i doubt i'd be wearing it to the yacht club or nightclub. it is a bit dorky looking. It would probably be great for Birdwatchers, the fieldguides would fit in the pockets.
