High off the deck on Warbonnet Peak in the immaculate Wind River Mountains, the naming of the range quickly makes sense. Patagonia's windproof and stretchy Men's Lightweight R4 Jacket protects and warms with a Polartec Windbloc laminate sandwiched between a low-nap polyester microfleece face and a high/low R1 (Polartec Power Dry) grid polyester interior used throughout (there are no longer unlaminated panels). The sonic-welding and micro-stitch technology now used on the zipper seams greatly reduces bulk, making the jacket more supple and with a sleeker appearance. Microfleece lines the collar, cuffs and hem, and seamless shoulders allow pack-wearing comfort. With three external zippered pockets (the handwarmer pockets stay clear of your harness), an interior wind flap and a drawcord hem. Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

Perfect Midweight
The fit of this jacket is perfect for my 5' 8", 165 pound build. The arms are a hair long as are most Patagonia jackets. However, the elasticized cuff keeps the jacket from hanging over your hands. The wind blocking ability of the jacket is excellent and the warmth is perfect for fall days in Montana.
Quality product
This is a great light-midweight "fleece" jacket for travel and for cool days. The quality of the manufacturing, and the fit, are exceptional. Its a great early spring/late fall jacket when you need some protection from a cool/cold breeze or cool/almost cold weather. Just the right amount of pockets for everyday use. It has none of the heft or warmth of a winter-weight fleece. Its that great in-between summer & winter jacket that I have been looking for. it would probably be too lightweight for full winter use, but if you are in and out of doors regularly - like when doing weekend shopping & errands, its perfect. I highly recommend it.
Great windproof fleece
Typical Patagonia quality in a jacket that is both soft and durable. Material may seem a little thin but it is nonetheless very windproof and unexpectedly warm for its weight. Good investment.
Lightweight R4
This jacket is exactly what you pay for. It's very light and has kept me warm on some of the coldest days with a layer or two under it. Has a good fit and looks great.
Excellent Fleece Jacket
I was shopping around for a lightweight, windproof fleece for backpacking and I decided to go with this jacket. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase, and I consider this jacket a worthwhile investment for anyone who hikes a lot. The fit of the jacket is true to size and it provides exceptional warmth for such a lightweight piece. It also keeps the wind out unlike other lower priced, budget fleece jackets. Another great product from Patagonia.
