The drawcord hood's small draft tube cleanly encircles your face; internal mesh drop-in pockets stow water bottles or spare mitts. Other fine points include soft, light, perforated hook-and-loop elasticized wrist cuffs and new reinforcements on shoulders and cuffs for greater durability. Fit is relaxed for layering. Deluge DWRPatagonia?s proprietary durable water repellent fabric finish, Deluge DWR, lasts substantially longer than standard DWRs. very nice, but...
This is a really nice jacket, but the problem is all the velcro! If you wear wool like I do, the velcro tends to catch and shred the wool. I took all the velcro off and it works pretty much as well, just cannot cinch up the hood in front of your chin, but a buff will take care of that. Sleeves are long enough for a tall person and the hood has great coverage. The jacket is so soft and comfortable, and if Patagonia had made allowances for not using velcro I would have given it five stars. I do not see any velcro on the DAS Parka...
