best t-shirt i own
I never go on a hike or backpacking trip without this. I sometimes layer it with a long sleeved capilene. It is perfect under pack straps and very comfortable. Fit is athletic. I highly recommend.

1st Patagonia item purchased (w/Cap 3 lg sleeve)
purchased a large, I'm 5'10", 172 lbs, 32-33" waist. It wicks very well, holds up well to encounters with tree branches/shrubs-bushes). For hiking, I would probably opt for a medium as it will be more slim fitting and do well under an outer layer. For the gym, probably stay with a large. Unfortunately, this will smell after working up a sweat. Unsure if it's my imagination but item seems to have loosened (less form fitting after a few dozen times wearing and washing it) around the waist/chest. Overall excellent product, will purchase more.

great lightweight synthetic top
Bought this shirt for my boyfriend, who wears it almost every time we do anything outdoors. Very lightweight, fits great, and is very versatile - offers great sun protection when it's sunny, and dries quickly when it's wet out. He loves it and I'm going to get him more in other colors.

Great buy!
I bought this shirt for my dad for Christmas and he loved it! It fits a little snung for the size, but that is what was expected for this type of shirt. He said he loves wearing it as a baselayer under a fleece in the winter. Great quality and warm.

Gotta love Capilene
I've been a huge fan of Patagonia's Capilene 1 series for a while now. Based on recommendations from a friend that mountain bikes (I'm a trail runner, not a biker) I decided to try Capilene 2. This shirt is truly amazing. It's so lightweight that you hardly notice it is there. It wicks moisture better than Capilene 1 in my opinion. We are having a cold winter so far in Southern California and this Capilene 2 t-shirt is doing a job as my trail running baselayer. On days when the sun is out I can rely on my Capilene 2 to keep me dry and warm without layering. On days when it's a little cold, wet, windy, etc., then my Capilene 2 performs like a champ underneath a jacket. The cut on this shirt is slim but that's how a baselayer should fit. It's slim but still very comfortable.
