Not quite a boxer, and not quite a brief - a technical, moisture-wicking solution to the underwear
Full-cut for comfort, our breathable and insulative boxer briefs hold you in good stead whether you're white-water kayaking, tying flies streamside or yo-yo lapping out-of-bounds. An exposed waistband helps streamline the fit; the nonbinding, coverstitched hem and rolled-forward leg seams ensure chafe-free mobility. With a 5 1/2" inseam (size M) and easy-access fly. Made from recycled polyester fiber. Made in USA. Common Threads Recycling ProgramResearch shows that the environmental impact of recycling worn-out Capilene base layers into new polyester fiber is significantly lower than making that same fiber from virgin materials. Taking into account that worn-out garments are diverted from trash incinerators, making new polyester fiber from recycled garments results in an energy savings of 76% and a CO2 emissions [greenhouse gasses] reduction of 71%, versus creating that fiber from new raw material. Capilene Core PerformanceCapilene base layers afford quick-drying, next-to-skin moisture management for all activities in all conditions ? from high-altitude bivies to sun-soaked water sports. Great for active sports
Purchased the Patagonia Active Boxer Brief for cycling and found them to be very comfortable. Fits well under cycling shorts. Very well constructed and true to size. A little pricey, but I will be buying more.
Best Underwear Yet
Use for long motorcyle touring trips where space is a premium. Wash in sink and hang to dry overnight. Comfortable fit and very durable.
My favorite pair of underwear
Simply put, these boxer briefs from Patagonia will surely become your favorite pair of underwear. They are very comfortable, lightweight, made of high quality materials, and moisture wicking. Although a bit pricey (as are all Patagonia products), these underwear are well worth it. I can wear them hiking, working out, or even around town. They are also made of recycled polyester, and so have little impact on the environment, which is good to know.
What's the big deal?
Well...the big deal is these brief are incredibly comfortable. The price on these do make me cringe since, after all, who pays this much for a pair of underwear!??!!??? I bought them for a hiking trip to Phantom Ranch/Grand Canyon because they were so very highly rated. Now they're hubbies favs. Sometimes you can't argue with function and quality...but I confess I still cringe.
Highly Intelligent Underwear
Though expensive, these briefs are well worth the money if you are into comfort, quality and don't mind spending a little more up front for something that will vastly outlast the cheaper competition. They are comfortable, easily washed and quickly dried on a trip and last for years. Buy a few pairs and you are good on briefs for years to come.
