A Daily Must Wear
I wore it daily with a North Face light shell at some temperature ranging from -5 degree Celcius to +2 degree Celcius with strong wind. The fleece is light and warm. It keeps me dry when I sweat during hiking and jogging.
Good Purchase
I had the opportunity to use this jacket for the first time in 40F windy weather on the Adventure Hiking Trail as camp wear and found it to be quite warm. This is with a light base-layer and Air Strip ventilated shirt. I am sure the jacket would be good well into the thirties with warmer mid-layer and if you had a hood. Doesn't pack so small but is very light weight for the warmth. The sleeves do run long, but found this to be good for the stretching and reaching while being active. The Patagonia quality shows through in the details of construction.
Very good midlayer
Jacket fits slimmer than most fleece jackets. It is also thinner so it fits very nicely under a shell. Very nice product.
Very nice fleece jacket.
This is very good very versatile fleece jacket. Good for 50F outside to running errands at 10F. You could wear it under a shell in harsh conditions. I like the fit, which on mine seems rather fitted nicely, and not sloppy like most fleece. Other years may have a different fit, as some seem to be saying it is too large. I've gotten 2 over the years and they seem more close fitted than average. The fleece is not as fuzzy and sloppy as typical fleece jackets, which I tend to dislike. More windproof than traditional fleece by far, but you will want a shell if the wind is blowing hard gusts. Pockets are perfectly useful without anything unnecessary. A proven winning design.
good
