Best first base layer
Capilene 3 is the first base layer our kids put on when getting dressed for winter skiing, sledding, playing outside. They start with the crew on top and the Capilene 3 pant leggings on bottom. We layer on one more fleecy layer, then the ski jacket/pants and they are good to go for the day! These crews are durable and comfortable. They hold up well even after many, many washings and hand-me-downs. Sizing is true to the Patagonia chart. Since this is a base layer, you don't want the kid to be swimming in a too large size or else it won't be as effective as a warm layer.

We just love this top. It is such a great base layer or even perfect to wear by itself.
