Wading's a little chilly after break-up or before freeze-over, but there's no need to go numb below the waist just because you fish the shoulder seasons. Our agile Insulator Pants serve as a buffer zone between your baselayer and waders. They're made from 6-oz moisture-wicking polyester, double-faced and brushed on both sides to optimize loft and warmth. They're also as comfortable as sweatpants: The elasticized waistband adjusts with a drawcord and is lined with brushed tricot (as are the pockets). With two front pockets, one zippered hip pocket and tapered cuffs for a secure underwader fit. Imported.

Top Notch
This is an unusual pair of pants. You don't think it could keep you warm enough when you first see it, but you are in for a surprise. I have been taking the dog out with these pants on some very cold nights, and it has kept me warm. They are very stylish and light. Nice pockets in front and back.
Good Stuff
This is my second pair of Patagonia Insulator pants. I'm not a fisherman and use these primarily camping when warming up before my exercise keeps me warm. I'm 5'10 and 190. My previous pair fit a bit wider in the waist and a bit shorter in the legs, and overall it was a much cruder design. The first pair were designed a bit more like jammies for the outdoors. In the newer version the legs taper considerably more in the lower leg region, clinging a bit to my calves, though not so on my thighs. The newer version have three discrete pockets (two in front and one in back), rather than being "sewn on." Rather than zippered pockets in front the new version has two single button closures, though the rear pocket is zippered. The "rise" or distance between the crotch and the "belt" line is shorter on the new pants. Both are very comfortable and warm, though I've only been able to wear them at home so far. Neither pair blocks wind really well, but they are considerably warmer than you'd think. While I prefer my first pair, and have had and used them year round for ten years which may say more about familiarity than quality, the new version is highly recommended.
