Great All Around Jacket!
Love, love, love this jacket! I have been looking for years for a jacket that is not too bulky yet one that keeps you warm and dry. This has it all. Not too heavy, yet warm, water resistant and comfortable. I love all the pockets and the added zip in balaclava for added warmth if needed. The color being what I wanted was an added bonus as well! The first time I wore this jacket it poured rain on us sking in the spring and it kept me dry the entire time! I was amazed. It is well made and you can tell it will last a long time and will be my go to jacket in all different seasons. This is also my first purchase from Altrec and they are on top of my list for customer service.
excellent jacket
i pair this with a north face windstopper. this combination keeps me very warm. i especially like the built in balaclava. this is a neat feature that should come standard on all ski jackets. keeps me warm on the mountain and also when walking around in the city. overall a versatile jacket that i would purchase again.
Finally a Great Ski Jacket
I have ordered and returned many a ski jacket, and I finally found my favorite. It isn't too bulky, so I can layer depending on the weather, yet it is still warm enough if I don't! I am 5' 6" and sometimes find jackets too short, but the length covers just enough and still shows off my cute ski pants. I would say it is a little bit of a generous true-to-size, but not enough to order a size up. There are plenty of retro colors to chose from! That would be the only difficult hesitation you should have in ordering one!!!
Awesome Jacket
I needed a brown waterproof ski jacket for resort and backcountry. Spent some time reading the research on this jacket and it was perfect. This jacket is wonderful. Fits great, looks great with a flattering fit. I skiied all day in a snowstorm and stayed dry and comfortable. You do need an insulating jacket or layer underneath, depending on the weather. There is plenty of room for a primaloft layer in between that does not add a bulky look. The inside pockets are a bit small and short, but functional. I like it so much, I wear it around town.
All around sound purchase
I bought this jacket for winter into spring skiing in chilly Killington, Vt. It is both warm and comfortable without roasting you like a potato. It zips up close at the neck preventing any wind from encroaching and is also soft so no chafing occurs. The guns were blowing hard, and I was completely dry and toasty. I recommend a mid-layer for below 20's and wind, but otherwise very comfortable with a base layer. Color, I bought the red is nice and not shouty like some reds can be. I am larger on the bottom than top, and the outer jacket accommodates this, without being baggy up top. The snow apron sits too far down, more on my bottom than my waist, but I am 5'2, so I just don't use it and when I do, I snap and than fold under to be at my waist to accommodate my short stature.
