terrific winter sports mitts
these are the best winter mitts i have tried. they are affordable, waterproof, extremely well made, and can be worn with a variety of gloves and mittens in addition to their fleece liners. i have used my mitts for a variety of winter sports including X-country skiing, snowshoeing, and dogsledding in the BWCA, and they are still in good shape after two seasons. thank you OR!
Exactly what I was looking for
I've moved a lot of snow this winter, in a lot of high wind. Gloves in general were leaving my fingers close to frostbite. These Meteor Mitts really did the trick. In fact, on a hike yesterday in 30 degree weather with 25 mph winds, they actually got a little sweaty inside. But with the inner sleeve option to pull back and expose the fingers, it wasn't a problem. The liner is a little tight to get on and off, but overall, I'm very pleased.
Quality Material Product
I'm very pleased with the material that went into making these mitts. The palm area material is tacky so that I can grab onto items without them slipping away. It also has some very good features that are useful in the cold outdoors. The adjustment straps for the wrist is easily tighened and loosened with your opposite mitten hand. The liner inside is thick and soft keeping your hands toasty on those cold outings. The only thing that I thought would be better for myself would be if the area aroung the base of my thumb and the wrist area was a tad bigger, so that those areas don't feel as confined. I purchased the large and I don't have really big hands with my 5'10" body weighting in at 160 lbs. Perhaps if I would of knew what I know now, I would have ordered the XL.
small size large
great features, though the flap for the fingers is a little too much extra material. the opening at the wrist area is very narrow, despite my hand size fitting within the large specs. that, combined with the angle of the thumb, make it pretty tight. I'm hoping that it loosens up rather than forcing a return
great gloves
its a great glove, very warm, well made and good quality. The only issue is when you take your hands out, the liner may comeout. We used it on a ski trip in Canada, on a very cold day.
