Nice thin shell
This is a thin shell with no insulation. It is a slimmer fit than most shells i have. Jackets with short sleeve length are always a problem for me with other brands but definitely not a problem with this.

Go-to ski jacket
I'm a professional ski patroller at an area with highly variable weather conditions. This is my go to jacket. Lightweight, comfortable, and sturdy. As others have said, there's no insulation so appropriate layering is key. It's also thin enough to wear under another shell if it's really dumping outside.

Great lightweight minimalist softshell
Haven't had a chance to abuse it yet so can't speak to durability, but so far so good. The cordura material appears to be pretty rugged, has a good dwr coating, plenty of stretch and is thin and lightweight. It doesn't offer any insulation per se, but is very effective at blocking the wind and does seem warmer than an ultralight windshirt. The only negative on the material is that it isn't all that soft next to the skin, but it's not bad and I think the trade off is worth it for the lightness in weight and apparent durability. High marks for both construction and design, especially for the progressively offset zipper and the hood (which makes it much more versatile than a hoodless softhell), although ideally I would have liked adjustable cuffs. Fit is decidedly athletic. I'm 6', 175lbs, athletic build (42" chest, 31" waist, 34" arms, fairly large shoulders and upper arms), and this jacket fits perfectly on me, with enough room for a light insulating layer underneath.

Compact and versitile
The material is thin but still seem tough. Packs down nicely into the right pocket where there's a loop sewn so you can hang it off a carabiner. It's not all that windproof but that sort of adds to it's versatility since windproof stuff tends not to breathe enough when you're really active. I'm 5'10", 156 and 40 chest. I got the small and it's big enough for a T and a mid-weight capilene. This thing is cut slim in the body and arms. Pits are cut sort of high too. So if you're built in the arms or lats you might want to size up, although the amount of stretch makes a snug fit pretty comfortable. Hood is small.....over a ball cap but under a helmet.
