I Love This Jacket!
I wore this jacket snowboarding in Lake Tahoe, and was out in both sun and snow. On sunny days it got pretty warm, but unzipping the arm vents fixed that up right away. I also boarded while it was snowing, around 25 degrees F and winds about 15-20mph, and was still warm despite wearing only a long sleeved cotton shirt underneath. If you'll be in colder weather, actual thermal wear will keep you even warmer, but for California it was perfect. It kept me dry, but California is not excessively wet so I dont how it would do in heavy rain. I sat in the snow a lot with it on and it never soaked through, which is good enough for me. The jacket runs true to size. I am 52 and 115lbs, usually in between a XS or S, and I got the S. It looked slightly baggy on me and I could have sized down, so if you're in between go smaller. The fit of the jacket is more relaxed, not fitted, but I like this because its really long and covers my butt so that even when I fall, snow never gets up my back or down my pants. Its still stylish though despite not being figure flattering because of the asymmetrical zip and fur hood, and I got the purple color, which I love. The jacket has pretty neat features, especially the magnetic buttons, sleeves, and hood. The hood attaches to the back of the jacket with a magnet when it's down, so it doesn't fly all over the place. The hood is also pretty heavy, so when you wear it facing the wind it doesn't fly right off. However, it is excessively large, and hinders my vision going downhill, so I mostly wore it sitting on the lift to block the wind or while I was walking around. The fur on the hood is super cute, but removing it and putting it back on is a bit of a hassle since it attaches with buttons, Id prefer a zipper. The sleeves are nice because they have the thumb hole. I wore my gloves over it, and because the sleeves are so long, I never had snow getting into my glove. The sleeves are also super wide, so they fit easily over a glove. It also has pockets on the inside, so I kept my goggles in there when I didnt need them, and had my cell phone in the little pocket. This was a great buy, and totally worth the money.
