Flak Jacket XLJ Oakley Sunglasses
Enjoy more vertical eye coverage than Oakley's standard Flak Jacket sport eyewear.
- Distinctly contoured and lightweight O Matter® frame
- New interchangeable Plutonite® lenses exceed ANSI Z87.1 standards for optical performance and have a special hydrophobic finish that resists moisture and skin oils
- Sized to fit medium to large faces
- XLJ lenses offer more vertical eye coverage than standard Flak Jacket lenses
- All Oakley lenses block 100% of UVA, UVB and UVC rays (plus blue light)
- Unobtainium® grips at nose and ear stems increase grip when damp

Do you see shades of the Half Jacket XLJ in these Flak Jacket XLJs? At a glance the contoured Flak Jacket frame seems to be the only significant difference, but the Flak Jacket XLJ represents a new generation of sport eyewear performance. The interchangeable lenses have a permanent hydrophobic lens that repels skin oil, rain and sweat to optimize optical performance. The lenses also resist smudges and clean easier than previous eyewear, making the design better suited to endurance sports and extended climbing and backpacking. While some people found the Flak Jacket XLJ lenses easier to change than the Half Jackets, it's all really a matter of getting used to changing lenses. Like learning anything new, changing the lenses the first time around takes an extra moment or two. After that you can swap out lenses in a few moments and quickly adapt to new light conditions. The XLJ lens design offers more vertical sweep or coverage than the standard Flak Jacket designs, an essential feature for athletes with larger faces or those who tend to watch their foot placement more than others. Like the Oakley Half Jackets, the Flak Jacket XLJ has a featherweight O Matter frame with Unobtainium earsocks, and the proven three-point fit. Unobtainium tends to grip more when wet, so you don't have to worry about your Flak Jacket XLJs giving you the slip before you reach the finish line.

The fastest delivery I've gotten. The glasses were just what I expected. They are wonderful on the golf course. Also, the fit is great and they are very light and comfortable.

Cool Shades!
I bought a pair of dark grey with polarized fire xlj flak jacket for my friend as a birthday gift and he simply loves it! Its a perfect gift for him as he's someone who love outdoor sports such as cycling, running, basketball etc etc. Commented that he will replace his old half jacket with this new pair as the flak jacket is as lightweight and what he likes most is the coating on the lens that doesn't fog out and the fingerprints can hardly stay on it. I've so far been seeing him wearing it every time we meet.

Flak Jacket XLJ Sunglasses - Review
Awesome glasses! I was back and forth considering whether to order a new pair of Maui Jim glasses to replace a pair that got melted in my car or to try out a pair of Oakley XLJ. I ordered the XLJ from Altrec and they arrived just in time to use them on a vacation whitewater rafting in Ft. Collins CO. Hands down the best glasses I have ever owned. Cut the glare on the water and stayed secure on my head despite the pounding spray. Thanks Altrec!

Way to go Oakley!
I purchased the Flak Jacket XLJ with the G30 lens for cycling. I know the lens is for golf, but these glasses are spectacular on the bike! The G30 lens makes the road and surrounding visually crisp and clear. I was afraid the lens would be too bright for riding in full sunlight, but they're great for all conditions. The frames on the Flak Jacket hold tight to my head without pinching or feeling tight. After riding for hours I hardly even notice these glasses on my head. However, for me the biggest advantage of these Flak Jackets is the clear field of vision on the top and bottom of the frame. I am happy there is no more sunglass frame blocking my view while riding. If you have a small to medium face and are looking for some great cycling shades I recommend the Flak Jacket XLJ and the G30 lens. Way to go Oakley and Altrec!
