New technology means a 0.5 mm wetsuit can provide the warmth of a full-thickness wetsuit.
Everyone deserves a second skin. And there is none better suited to a wet environment than NRS HydroSkin--quickly becoming the hottest thing in comfortable, active-stretch paddling apparel. This high-tech, ultra-thin neoprene will stand up to years of abuse and still give you the performance you have come to love and expect from NRS products.

good for swimming outdoors
This shirt is great for swimming in an outdoor pool in the winter. I live in Houston, Texas where the winters are relatively mild. I use a heated pool but somehow 80-82 in the winter is much colder than in the summer. This shirt was designed for paddlers but I use it for swimming. I make two adjustments:(1) the neck is not very snug so I tie a string around the neck each time I swim.(2) I wear trunks with a drawstring and pull the string very tight. This keeps the warmed water inside the shirt . This shirt is better than a wetsuit for swimming because the wetsuit has a lot of bouancy, which eliminates almost all resistance (and therefore excercise) in the water.
Better then a wetsuit
This shirt is nice, and definitely lives up to its claim of being the equivalent warmth to a 2mm neoprene. The thinner shirt gives you much more mobility (and looks cooler) than a wetsuit. The underarms are kind of an elastic spandex, and doesn't rub or feel like sandpaper after hours of paddling. The shirt has a small tendency to ride up around the waist if you're just walking around, however wearing a spray skirt over top negates that problem. Like most NRS products, very high quality. Recommended!
Warm and confortable
I bought this shirt to wear under my farmer john wet suit while flopping around in 50 degree F. Puget Sound. I wanted more protection for my upper torso. This shirt got the job done, I've been plenty warm for my rescue practices. I wouldn't count on NRS's claims that Hydroskin(tm) is "breathable." I got wet and stayed wet. As for style? This is probably the sexiest piece of clothing I own. I should wear it on dates.
