HydroSkin NRS Pant

Comfort and warmth in a neoprene so thin, you have to try it out to believe it.

  • 0.5 mm neoprene
  • TiCoat™ neoprene/nylon finish for "space blanket" warmth
  • Four-way stretch MicroPlush™ lining with the softness and comfort of fleece)
  • PowerSpan™ for freedom of movement
  • Flat-stitched seams for comfort
  • Ultra-snag and tear-resistant

Everyone deserves a second skin. And there is none better suited to a wet environment than NRS HydroSkin, which is quickly becoming the hottest thing in comfortable, active-stretch paddling apparel. New technology enables the production of an ultra-thin neoprene (0.5 mm thick or one half the thickness of a dime). NRS combines with a layer of TiCoat insulation for increased warmth.

Great Pants
These pants fit very well according to the NRS Hydroskin size chart. The smalls fit me just right and I'm 5'4" and 120 lbs. My husband is 5'8" and 142 lbs so the mediums fit him perfectly. The pants are snug, but not tight, which sounds like a contradiction. However, you need the pant to fit snugly so that they can keep you warm if you get wet. They are comfortable and durable. We find them very useful for our water adventures.

Stretchy Fit Fits Many Body Types
For anyone who is wondering, the largest size (for tall people) also fit my short (5'2") and overweight (around 200 pounds) female body. Because the fabric is stretchy, they fit a variety of body shapes, perfectly. And because the fabric is light weight, the extra length just "wrinkles" attractively around the ankles. I was very pleased and comfortably warm, too.

Hypothermia 101
I used to hate wetsuits because I felt like they restricted my mobility and torso rotation. Then I got hypothermic on the big laurel and realized that shorts weren't enough in winter. I still don't wear wetsuits, but I've found that hydroskin or thin neoprene pants are a comfortable way to stay warm. And you can pee without taking your drytop off!
