Awesome Cooler
I purchased and use the 65-quart on my bay boat in Florida. The cooler fits perfectly under the leaning post, but is so solidly built, I can use it as a casting deck/seat on the bow when needed. The built-in feet keep the cooler solidly connected to the deck at all times and the drain is well designed, it will drain fully on its own without needing to tilt. Most importantly, the cooler keeps ice like nothing I've owned before (Igloo, Coleman, Thermos, etc.), after 3 days in the sun, you still have virtually all the ice you started with.
None compares
We took this on. Four day canoeing trip in the Alleghenies, we ended up having ice cold beer for memorial day. In addition, we also had the the Coleman marine 100, th engel held the ice cold 3 days later. Get this one before Amy others,!
Durable and Priced Right
I also own the larger 80 qt. Engel and have put them to the test in the Florida salt and sun. The initial cost may seem high, but I tend to go through "average" coolers within 2 years. My coolers are in the sun all day, tossed from boat to docks, and from docks to the truck. This level of punishment will all but destroy the Igloos and Colemans. With the Engel, I believe you get what you pay for... and more.
Engel Cooler
Quality was very poor on the latches and Engel's customer service has yet to remedy the situation. I guess they've switched manufacturers and have yet to sort out the quality issues.
