The nike+ products are awesome. The battery in the sensor seems to last me about a year (this is 2 years in a row I've had to buy a new one) so I'll be back at Altrec then...if not before. Thanks!
Great Replacement
I bought a pair of Nike's a few years ago, and the Nike+ sensor that originally came in them ran out of battery. I bought this one as a replacement, it came quickly, and everything works great!
Simple... too simple
The Nike+ sensor is a nice simple exercise equipment that hooks up to your iPod Touch, iPhone or iPod nano. It's strengths are that it is simple to use: simply sync the sensor to your device and run. Following your run, just sync your iPod like you would for syncing music and the results of your run are uploaded to Nike.com's Nike+ website, which you can then keep track of your results. The $19 price tag may be a little steep for a device that has no removable or rechargeable battery. There is no screen or light indicating how much battery life is left, or even if the device is on and working. The device simply keeps track of how far you run and how long you run. Runners expecting a device that keeps track of heart rate or blood pressure will be slightly disappointed. The device only works with runs: elliptical and bike workouts will not register with the device. Overall, keeping track of your workouts in a simple fashion is fun and creates a great incentive for running. However, runners expecting a detailed, in-depth analysis of their runs will want to look elsewhere.
