light performance
I tried my friend's MSR lightening first - and it was lightweight, with good load ability. This shoe has a hinge instead of a rubberband-like swivel mechanism, which means the shoe does not snap up to your foot after you take a step - and that's a good thing. The shoes with the rubber/elastic type hinge will fling snow up your back with each step (Atlas snowshoes do this). I just received my MSR pair - and now see that MSR Axis model will even adjust to the angle of your gait, so I'm exchanging for Axis.
