Outstanding dual valve for flame control, large pot supports for cooking up big meals.
Big backcountry stove performance doesn't have to weigh in at a lot of extra ounces. The MSR DragonFly Stove offers exceptional flame control and large supports for holding big diameter pots and pans. This is a great stove for large groups or generous cooking proportions on climbing and backpacking trips. The dual-valve CoolFuel gives you a fine-control advantage over ordinary liquid fuel burners, so you can simmer sauces instead of the classic scorch and torch routine. Liquid fuel stoves are an excellent choice for cooking in cold temperatures. Depending on altitude and temperatures, a twenty-ounce fuel bottle of MSR white gas will burn for a 126-minute average.

Super Stove
I used this stove this past week for the first time and it was great. I went backpacking for a whole week, and another group with us had the whisperlite, and the dragonfly was obviously so much easier to use than the whisperlite. It's heat is so much more adjustable, and therefore uses much less gas than most other stoves. Also, the stand is much easier to use, causing far less spills and more stability than the whisperlite. It heats water much faster and is more user-friendly. I definately recommend it!
Great Stove
I bought this stove for a through hike of the Ozark Highlands Trail. It has been a great stove for both base camp and on trail use. It may be a little on the heave side when compared to the Pocket Rocket, but it's added versatility of fuel source more than made up for its size. In field maintainability wasn't overly difficult, and the shaker cleaning made routine cleaning a snap. Overall I thought it to be an awesome stove for base camp use, and a good choice for a multi-day through hike when cooking for multiple people.
Easy to use
Unlike the whisperlite stove, the dragonfly has given me no issues. It starts easily and what I like the best is that it will easily maintain a low flame for simmering.
Great stove - well worth the money!
I took one of these on my New Zealand trip 10 yrs ago for 9 months much of the time I was camping. Its a great and versatile stove. Since you can burn many types of fuel, it makes it easy to find fuel if white gas is not around. Can simmer or crank it up for whatever heat you want. A trick I learned is take a bandana and wet it, throw it over the top while its boiling water - heats up very fast and saves fuel. I just bought another one for car camping w many people. It doesn't take a lot of fuel and that's nice when you cant carry a lot of fuel. - I had the Whisperlite prior to this stove... I had many problemss with it, not reliable at all, this Dragonfly is far superior!!!
Light, Hot and Strong!
I purchased two of these for car camping and backpacking and they are brilliant. They pack down small, open up big to be very stable and are incredibly hot. They also burn for a very long time on a small bottle of fuel. I'd never buy anything else after having these.
