Durable and Functional
Bought three 6L bags in 2007, they've been through many National Parks and not a single problem so far. Even after a raven attack in the Grand Canyon seemingly destroyed the cap on one, the product still performed flawlessly for the remaining six days of the trip. Common water bottle threads not only made replacing the cap easy once we hit civilization again, but attaches quickly and easily to the Katadyn Vario water filter for fast filling in the field. Provides the necessary water storage when dry camping is required. Cleaning is made easier when a nylon brush is used, just make sure to dry thoroughly before storing. Overall a great product.
best storage bag for rugged use
I use it for kayak camping. I also use 3 liter platypus bottles. Both work but the MSR unit is more rugged and beatable. I was worried about bad water taste from the unit but from what I read it happens to older well used bags or ones that just were not cleaned out. So far no bad taste.
MSR Dromedary Bag
I purchased the 4 liter and 6 liter bags to use on canoe trips. They work very well and appear to be indestructible. They take little space when empty and are easy to use when full. Altogether, they are well worth the money.
Best Dromedary I've Found
I have this in 3 sizes and couldn't ask for more. It is completely bulletproof and I am not afraid to just throw it on top of my gear in my pack. Adds some taste, but no more that any other hydration pouch I've used. I wouldn't switch if I already had a pouch, but if you need one this is definitely the way to go.
Useful camping tool
I bought the 6 liter bag, and brought it along backpacking with only one Nalgene water bottle. I can purify about 4 bottles worth of water at once when I get to camp and then I don't have to mess around with the water filter any more after that. Also, with this bag I can fill it up with water then camp somewhere that's not nearby a water source.
