Super Warm Down Jacket!
Purchased jacket to climb Rainier. Jacket kept me super warm and it's Conduit SL layer helps to ensure no precip during the trip caused the down to clump. I wish it was waterproof, but the Conduit SL is more than acceptable w/o taped seams. I love the fleece lined pockets and the large hood. Fits maybe slightly larger than MH fleece jackets so it fits a little long on me, but I think that's a bonus in this case. Can't wait to get out and use this jacket more. The quality of the jacket is very good, and I expect to have it for many years.
fantastic sub zero jacket
High performance jacket that keeps you cozy and warm in the coldest conditions. Just used it at camp and as my back-up jacket for climbing and skiing at higher altitudes in Bolivia, and in some fierce winds, and was well protected. Detachable hood and other great features like lined pockets and collar. I am 5'7 and athletic build- Medium was the perfect size. WARM!
Jacket worth the cost
I bought this jacket for use snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and hiking in the winter time in the Aridondacks and Green Mountains. This jacket is extremely lightweight so it won't slow you down while working hard. It also really is windproof and the water just beads right off of it. The hood is ideal for windy days, it had two strings and pently of room for a helmet if necessisary. If you are looking for a really nice looking jacket that is light and had all the perks of a professional outdoorsman jacket this is the coat for you. Also, I just like the way the coat looks.
Warmest Lightest Jacket Ever!
Extremely warm and amazingly light! I love this jacket. The hood is removable, which is a very nice touch. The stuff sack is cool and very convenient for travel. I bought this jacket specifically for a trip to NYC for New Year's Eve. The jacket stowed away in it's stuff sack inside my small day pack on the Amtrak ride up. Wore it all night long in Times Square on NY's and didn't get cold once. The hood kept my neck and ears warm and didn't obstruct my field of vision at all. I'm 5'3" 120 lb, athletic build and size small is perfect for me. I normally wear size Medium in every other Mountain Hardwear shirt, fleece, and jacket I own, but this jacket seems to run a little big. If you want to stay warm and not feel bogged down with a weighty coat, this jacket is for you. Very stylish, too!
My favorite puffy coat ever!
This coat is not too bulky even though it's a puffy coat, and it is very lightweight, and yet it is soooo warm! The hood is very deep and closes well/easily with velcro. I used to wear my boyfriend's to walk out to the end of our driveway to get the mail when it's cold or snowy because I love it so much - so I decided to get my own size and now I can wear it everywhere! Get this coat if you are serious about warmth and blocking the wind. And I think it still looks sleek, especially in the shiny black material. The outer material might snag or tear easier than some heartier material, but I think it's the same reason why it's so lightweight. I haven't had any issues, and neither has my boyfriend (and he uses his to commute to work on the train), so so far so good. Just mentioning it because that's really the only downside I can think of. It's a little expensive as well, but I think it's worth the cost.
