This Is The One
I wore this parka for dogsledding in the wilderness along the border of Canada and Minnesota. The temperature varied between -10 and -22 degrees Fahrenheit. I wore the parka with a thin silk turtleneck and a heavy wicking turtleneck on top. I was toasty. One day, I wore a fleece top also, and had to stop after about ten minutes to take it off, since I was sweating. If there were a bunch of hills and we had to scooter to help the dogs (workout!) I adjusted the zippers on the parka to let some heat out. The hood adjustment (mens parka only) was really helpful, since some days were windy, so we needed extra hood pulled around our faces. Other days, we cinched the hood back so it left more of our faces open. The water bottle pocket inside kept the water from freezing, all day and night. The zippers have bias tape to keep the nylon from getting pinched by the zipper, and the down backing, behind the zipper, kept all wind out. Angled hand pockets very useful for Chapstick, and zippers work in convenient direction. I expected that the exterior might tear some, with the dogs claws and the brush wed go through, and counted on the rip-stop. What I discovered was that this tough parka NEVER got a single, tiny tear, despite canine mauling and several unplanned racing plunges through the underbrush. My daughter had the jacket version, and her jacket survived worse treatment without a single thread pulling out. Great surprise. I wear the parka around town in Washington D.C. winters if I will be walking much, since I feel cold before other people. The parka is not too hot, but if it were, I can open the zippers to make it perfectly comfortable. We had both red and green parkas, and the red is better in the woods for others to see you from a distance. Best, awesome, practical, toasty warm parka ever!
The Best and Warmest jacket I have ever owned
I bought one of these parkas for myself and one for my 14 year old son to use primarily for winter camping. On a recent trip to the Middle Prong Wilderness of the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina, temperatures dipped into the single-digits with heavy snow showers. This parka performed magnificently keeping us both warm and dry. My son and I both can't believe how warm this parka is. Even with a brisk wind we were warm and toasty. This is by far, the best jacket I have ever owned. The fit and finish is superb and I expect this jacket to last a very long time. I highly recommend this parka! You won't be disappointed!
Great jacket!
Warm and durable looking (only time will tell if it stands up to work and play). Of course, once I purchased the jacket, sub-zero temps have not returned! Great product, price, and service!
Best winter jacket
By far the best winter jacket I have worn, here in Sweden we have quite cold weather in the winter months, and it passes with colors. I have used it when it has been -25C and it's amazingly warm. I recommend it to everyone! Beautiful, light and warm. Great!
The warmest jacket ever!
This is the best parka i have ever had love the fleece lined pockets very warm built for Alaska but works well in Michigan.
