Nice
They seem to fit true to size, and have been durable on the couple of hikes I have worn them on so far. They are comfortable and dry quickly. I got XLs and am 6'4" 240 lbs. They are a little noisy. Strangely, they only have one belt loop. I often wear a belt when day hiking (for a multi-tool, little flashlight, etc), and would like a few more belt loops. The front pockets are a little small but the other pockets are a good size.
Great all-around pant
This is my second pair of the Mesa Pants. I wear these around quite a bit but mainly warmer weather backpacking and when out walking the dogs through the woods. They're comfortable, quick drying, and lightly drizzle/misting rain proof. Since the fabric is a bit thin they seem to catch greenbrier and multi-flora rose briers pretty bad when I'm cutting through the brush but I've never torn them yet. The places where the thorns catch seam to 'heal-up' pretty nice but I am a bit paranoid that if I were moving faster through the briers (me moving faster - right) they might be more prone to tear. This is a great pant for warmer weather outdoors activities and for just out casually roaming the streets.
consistent performance
MHW pants can always reach my expectation. You can wear it for everything from hiking to climbing to everyday use. Its fabric drys fast, walk around or chill in the sun for 5 or 10 minutes and you are dry again. I also like the pocket design. I give the comfort rating as 4 because I feel the length is a little bit too long. Overall, it's as good as other MHW pants.
Another great MHW product!
I have the convertible version of these pants for summer and loved them enough to get a "winter version." I'm 5'10" and 150 lb and the medium/long are nice. I like a bit more length and these do the trick. Very breathable and comfortable!
Mesa Pant Review
Used the tan colored Mesa pant in July 2010 climbing in the Tetons. The pant breathed well and I did not overheat when hiking in the very hot canyons leading to the high country. The pant was comfortable and roomy when making climbing moves. Loved the elastic at the bottom of the pant. It kept debris out of my boots. I would definitely recommend this pant for 3 season use.
