Mt. Rainier is the tallest Mountain in Washington State and when you are bivying at the base of Interglaicer, in order to make your moonlit summit bid, warmth and protection from the weather is priority #1. Those who know and understand this pick the Mountain Hardwear Compressor PL Jacket for Men as their synthetic insulation piece because it has a great warmth-to-weight ratio and continues to insulate even when wet.

Remarkably Warm
I love this jacket. This is the second PL Compressor jacket I've purchased and not because the other one is worn out. I've worn my first one so much my wife begged me to get another one, in another color, so that I would have a backup or so it could get cleaned. It is so surprisingly warm for how incredibly thin and light it is.
Bought this because my father-in-law, a backpacking outfitter in the Northwest, has had one for years that he loves. I wore it around the last time I was out to visit, so I knew a I knew it would fit and perform well.
excellent jacket
Jacket is extremely light and warm. I haven't worn it in rain or snow, so I can't comment on water resistance. Fit is tight, expecially in the shoulders. I usually wear a medium in similar jeckets, including other Mountain Hardwear jackets. However, a large Compressor PL fits perfectly. And it looks great.
Awesome Jacket!
Bought this jacket last fall as my primary winter jacket for around the town use, and I certainly wasn't disappointed! The Compressor provides great warmth for a jacket that is so light and form fitting, plus it keeps you warm even after it gets wet. Another plus is that the Primaloft liner is in sheets which do not require baffles, which means fewer seams and less wind penetration. This jacket is great with no more than a t-shirt underneath for temperatures down to about 35 degrees, and it is perfect for any temperature with proper layering. I use it as a midlayer underneath the Mountain Hardwear Mercurial soft-shell jacket on particularly cold, wet, or windy days. My only concern with the jacket is the shell material is indeed ultralight, and therefore it is relatively thin and it seems as though it could tear relatively easily if it were snagged on a branch or something or the sort. Overall, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.
Great Jacket!
I bought this jacket a couple of years ago for my husband. He loved it so much I decided to pick up a second one for him. It is the perfect jacket throughout the year. Light weight, compresses into its own pocket. Super jacket!!
