Wow
My wife and I have a cabin on the Kenissis R. in ON which stays open all winter, so I canoe it frequently. Before I bought the comprssor pants I tried various layers to keep my legs and butt warm - to no avail. I'm talking capilene, then midweight, then expedition weight under goretex. After 40 minutes I was an icicle. With the compressors over the capilene, under the goretex I'm toasty! I also bowhunt deer from a tree stand; meaning sitting rigid still for several hours at a a time. OMG I used to get cold legs. Upper was fine cause I was under 700 fill down. Now with the compressor pants I'm comfy from my ankles on up. Just my feet I use the chem warmers. Anyways, the pants are warm. Oh and the full length zips are fantastic.
warm and handy
I often borrow these pants from my boyfriend, and they are totally awesome. I got myself a pair as a gift to him, so I wouldn't borrow them all the time anymore. They are warm as can be, they are light, and they are practical to pull on over anything else you are already wearing. I wear them all the time in the winter. Sometimes even to ski or exercise if it is really cold.
Very warm, and very light
So far, the compressor pants are my favorite MH purchase. Primaloft insulation is amazing. They kept m very warm in 15 degree, wet and snowing weather. Too hot for hiking, unless its absolutely freezing, so I just slip these on when I get to camp and its instant warmth. And they are so light for the warmth they provide. The stuff sack that comes with the pants is too big, so I just put mine in a little dry bag and it compresses a lot more. The fabric used for the knees and seat areas is nice, but watch out for the rest of the pant, especially around the fire. I have a little hole in mine from a flying spark, but it should be an easy patch. Other than that, these pants are awesome! I hope this helps.
Great purchase
I bought these pants to use on a mountain climbing trip to Aconcagua in Jan. - Feb. Due to some bad weather in GA, I have had to break them out early to plow snow and they have kept me very comfortable. They fit well and are easy to take on and off. I would recommend them to anyone who needs to be out in very cold weather. I think they should work well on the upper reaches of Aconcagua. I have not had them long enough to judge durability.
Very light and comfortable pants!
These pants are great! They are extremely light, which make them a great item to stuff in a pack in case the weather deteriorates without packing too much extra weight at the same time. Even though they are filled with synthetic, the compress a lot and won't take too much room. They come with a handy bag to stuff them in when not in use. Warm and comfortable, they are a priceless addition to the winter camping kit! I wish I had them on my last high altitude mountaineering expedition. They will be part of the trip next time. I would recommend this item to anyone who tends to feel chilly around camp at night.
