Great Jacket for Those with Slender Body Types
At 5'7" 130lbs, i am what you would call of smaller proportion. Finding clothes that fit can sometimes be a challenge, however this jacket fit REALLY well. The fit of the jacket is what you may call "active", which fits closer to the body. The arms are not humongous or long, in fact it may be too short for some of you yeti's out there. For me however, its almost the perfect length, and that's good enough for me. I have not tested the jacket in anything colder than 30F. It is really warm with nothing but a t-shirt under in 30F and windchill around 20mph. The descriptions say nothing about the shell's ability to block wind, and i think that's because it may be quite poor compared to goretex or omnitech materials, however it does have some windblocking capabilities. Overall i love the jacket, my only concern is its longevity. Mountain Hardwear offers a "limited lifetime warranty", but the shell feels fragile. Unless you wear it under a hard shell it may not fair well in abusive conditions, which is not covered in the warranty.

GREAT JACKET!!!
Awesome jacket! warm, not to bulky. The hood is super warm as are the pockets. kept me warm in several hours of single digit temps and windy conditions with only a t shirt underneath. I am 6', 180lbs and the large fits well. Only slight complaint is the jacket fits perfectly through the body but the sleeves are a bit short. The articulated sleeves definitely minimize this issue. Overall a superior jacket!

Great warm jacket.
I'm 5'8", 155 lbs. and the medium is a perfect fit for me, though the jacket has a trim fit with the insulation. The primaloft is very warm without being bulky. The jacket kept me warm in 20 degree windy weather with only a light shirt underneath. I love the fleece lined front pockets; definitely kept my hands warm. Also, the fabric has a subtle small checker pattern( at least in the black color ), that you can't see from the photo. I haven't used the jacket in wet conditions yet, so don't know how waterproof it is. Overall, a well made and warm jacket from MH.

Sweet Jacket!
Love the MH Alcove jacket. Super warm and comfy. It's exactly what I was looking for in a winter coat. The large was a little small on me so I am sizing up to an XL. The insulation is perfect. I had a down jacket that was too puffy and had the michelin man syndrome going on but now that is fixed!

short sleeves
The jacket itself is well constructed and warm. I'm 5'10, 142lbs with a wing spand of 5'8 finger tip to finger tip. I purchased a medium and the sleeves were too short. If I raised my arms infront of me the sleeves where 4 inches from my wirst so I had to return it. sizing chart suggested the sleeves were 34 iches, but I'd say closer to 30 or 32.
