Very Comfortable!!
Had these shoes for a couple weeks now and love them! Very light and comfortable and they breathe well. Also like that they are unique looking. Hard to find unique shoes in larger sizes but these shoes are awesome!
Sabino Trail is just right
Montrail's Sabino Trail is a return to the kind of shoe I love. Very roomy with a nice wide toe box, nice tread, and a thick sole. If you like the fit of the Streak but are looking for more cushion, this is the shoe for you. I've put about 50 miles on my new Sabinos in the rock and snow of the Los Alamos December and have found them to be exceptional; a very stable shoe with good traction in almost all conditions. Some runners might find the roomy toe box leads to toe jamming and some lateral stability issues. I use a thick sock and my feet consider the spacious front end a definite feature.
Montrail never lets you down
I have been through several pairs of Montrail hiking boots as well as Hardrock shoes for everyday use. I wear them to work as well as trail walking. The medial support is incredible, and they last forever. I will always stick with Montrail!
Montrail Sabinos in Sabino Canyon
I had been through at least five pairs of Montrail Hardrocks and had no intention of changing. One article I read stated that the Montrail Sabino was replacing the Hardrocks, so I placed the order. I received my shoes on a friday afternoon and went on an 18 mile trail training the next morning. It was no surprise that there was no need for a break in of these shoes. I've run Ultra-marathons for several years and Montrail shoes have never let me down. The Sabinos were every bit as comfortable and durable as the Hardrocks, if they only came in half sizes. They're light-weight and the traction, even on wet surfaces, was great. I will definitely give them a shot for future runs. Thank-you Altrec for making my first purchase so enjoyable.
Mens' Sabino Trail Running Shoe
For many years I have been a fan of Montrail Hardrock running shoes for their immediate and long lasting comfort with light and excellent support. Although I have "normal" arches, I've suffered plantar faciaitis in the past. Having trouble locating Hardrocks I elected to try the Sabino Trail. Opened the box and liked the blue coloring and contrasting laces. I noticed the shoes were also light and appeared well-made. I put on one shoe and loosely snugged up the laces appreciating the padded/gussetted tongue. However, when I put the other one on and pulled the laces, one of the middle shoelace eyelet straps popped loose. (the stitches in the shoe missed the strap). I walked around the house abit and noticed very comfortable cushioning and what felt like a rollbar in the sole of the forefoot that encouraged the transition from heel strike to toe lift. The shoes have been returned but I'm eargerly awaiting for the replacements. Though no longer a runner, I am on my feet alot doing maintenance work and up on ladders or carrying stuff. I anticipate/hope these shoes will perform as well as the Hardrocks. Further reviews will be provided once I've worn them awhile. My ratings are not truly fair either which way inasmuch as these shoes came with a hidden defect. The shoes did feel true to size with a narrow heel and wide toe box.
