Great boots.
I bought these for hiking in the Cascades. I have plantar fasciitis and very high arches and these shoes provide great arch support. They have removable insoles so I can use my orthotics. Plenty of room in the toe box, very lightweight, comfortable right out of the box with no breaking in required. I highly recommend these

Great All-around boot
Purchased for Grand Canyon trip. Size was perfect. I am 6 ft. 200 lb. and tend to walk on the inside of my right foot. These boots support my ankles and cause no discomfort. Absolutely no problems with the break-in. Boots are comfortable enough and lightweight enough to wear as an everyday boot. No experience with the waterproof yet, but feel comfortable that they will indeed be waterproof. Great service also.

Make your feet feel important!
These hiking boots feel great, have plenty of room and still have sure footing. They run true to size, and are almost as comfortable as the US made Redwing hikers in the past decades. I have to be careful because I am a diabetic and these boots do not cause me to have any problems. The boots look much better in front of you than in the ad's photos. I was worried that they would look funky, but they are sharp looking boots. I'm a big guy and these boots keep my feet happy and make them feel important as they should. Buy them while you can still get them. I bought the last pair in my size, thank you Altrec!

for those into protective boots, these are great.
The boots are fine, unless you are a minimalist. They weigh a lot, but offer protection. I decided to return, because I didn't want to sacrifice the ability to feel the mountain. I like vertical-ness and feeling the condition of the ground is a must. If your ankles are slightly weak and you have huge thighs for long sloppy treks, then these are your boots. They protect you from almost everything, but being tracked. Very weighty
