One of Merrell's better designs
I have to admit, I have mixed experiences with Merrell's shoes. In general, they are excellent shoes with solid designs and looks, but sometimes some models I try just aren't that great. The Intercept is not one of those. I'm so happy with these, I bought a second pair. They fit well and are comfortable. They lace up tightly. They are relatively water resistant without becoming sweatboxes.

Quality hiking shoes
Snug fit around ankle; sizing runs on small side (0.25-0.5 of Men's size). I have not broken in the shoes, but the flex is stiff out of the box. High quality materials. OrthoLite insole is removable/replaceable. Sole rolls over heel, making these good driving shoes as well. In size 11.5, vented perforations in the leather are about 1.5" from bottom, meaning these shoes should do well in mud/puddles of low to moderate depth.

Am very happy!
I took these shoes out of the box and put them on right away, it felt like I was wearing slippers! They are so comfortable and durable. I've been out on trails since I've had them and have had no problems at all, in fact I brag to everyone about how fantastic my new shoes are. They even look sharp! What a deal :)

Awesome Shoe
Great shoe, since I owned my first pair of Merrells 6 years ago I wont buy any other shoe. The Intercept has great arch support and tread pattern. Great durability and comfortable to wear all day long whether your outside hiking or standing on cement at work. Best shoe I have ever owned when I wear out one pair I buy the same.
