I Love This Jacket!
I ordered this jacket because marmot is one of my fav brands and with this jacket it just proves me right all the time. It's very comfy and you could put an inner shell or not but it looks good either way. I wear it for rainy or just cool weather. It's awesome!
Great jacket!
Lightweight, Gortex, windproof, waterproof...I love this jacket. Plan to take it on many trips in 2011.
This is a great jacket. I've been impressed with the quality of workmanship and the attention to detail that went into designing and producing this jacket. I typically think of Gore-Tex as being a bit thicker, crisper and heavier fabric, but this Paclite Gore-Tex is lightweight and packs down very small. The fit is streamlined enough to be flattering, yet leaves enough room for layers. It fits true-to-size, but is about as small as I would want it to be for layering. If you're planning on a lot of bulky layers, I would opt for the next size up. I have yet to test it on the trail, but I do live in Okinawa, Japan and we have a typhoon currently bearing down on us with excessive wind and rain. I wore this jacket out running errands yesterday and had no problems. I was pleasantly surprised by the breathability of the fabric since I could sometimes feel the wind through the fabric. I'm looking forward to testing this out on the trail, but thus far I'm very pleased with my purchase.
Great Jacket
I have been on a quest for a perfect rain jacket. Apparently, I have a somewhat strangely shaped or large-sized head, because hoods have been a problem. The Minimalist hood provides excellent coverage, however! The fit is excellent--trim line that keeps drafts out, and looks good, too. I am 5'6", 130#, and the Medium fits perfectly with a layer or two underneath, and without. Excellent range of motion, as well--with my arms straight over my head, the hem still covers my waist and hips. The 2 pockets are large, and extend nearly the entire front of the jacket, giving the front a double layer of GoreTex.The only 'problem' (and I think it has to do with my head!) is that the neck of the hood is somewhat tight, and my chin must either stick out of the hood completely or be tucked in tight. However, the Minimalist is great overall, and if this one is like my brother's, it will last!
very nice jacket
Very slim fitting jacket. I am 5'4" 123# and sz small was a bit tight with a long sleeve tee and thin sweater. If I had tried a fleece, no way I could've zipped it. Take that into consideration when ordering. It is tapered in at the waist very nicely for a woman. Too bad Altrec was sold out in Med.
