Weather Proof in any Inclimate Weather
Handles down pours and gusty winds with great breathability under the most arduous back country conditions. Resilient to harsh terrain abrasions and room for layering. A must for the serious backcountry outing.
Waterproof and lovin' it so far
I give it high marks for its ability to shed the driving rain and its breathability. In the week I have had this jacket, our area has been hit with 5 days of downpour/deluge. My body stayed dry the whole time. The temperature and humidity were high, yet I did not feel overwhelmed by it (some of my previous shells were not breathable enough). Granted, I have only used this jacket as a casual, walk-around-town jacket; no aerobic-type activity. In addition to the hem drawcord, I wish it had a way to cinch up the waist a bit (full fit). I only wish I had the pants to go with it, then my legs would not have gotten soaked!.
Great jacket looks good love it.
Excellent rain wear for its intended purpose.
versatile rain jacket for moderate activity
I think Marmot classifies this as an "urban" jacket, and that is exactly right. It is excellent rainwear for its intended purpose, which is casual to moderately active use. The jacket is cut quite full and the smooth lining allows it to slip on easily, even over a sport coat. The simple, clean styling without patches or ornamentation also makes it versatile enough to wear around town. The fabric is waterproof in anything short of a torrential downpour (I actually haven't tried it in one) and breathes well, too. The only limitation of this jacket would be for extremely active use, when one of Marmot's more rugged garments with pit zips would be a better choice. It's well made, too.
Quality Waterproof Shell
Also picked up this jacket when it was on sale, since I needed a light waterproof jacket for everyday use. Kept me dry in rainy conditions, and the hood is large enough to keep the rain out of your face, but it does cut down on your peripheral vision a bit. Nice big pockets, especially the hidden pocket along the zipper, under the flap.
