Water rolls off it!
GREAT JACKET. Good fit (M). Wonderful soft but tough fabric: Water rolls off it. Guess you could spill wine on it and it would be OK!! Wind does not go thru it. BUT it is a THIN fabric, and it was returned because it might not be enough for the very cold northern climate. It is expensive and I wasn't willing to risk possible chills for the price. Excellent for more moderate climes!
Pro Tour Shell Jacket
I was looking for a highly breathable shell to use on backcountry trip. I like the synthetic material and the shell is water and windproff at least 95%. I would use this jacket except for one thing.... no pit zips! The seams are not storm proof and no pit zips. If you don't have a problem overheating or like a thin shell for those backcountry days this jacket is for you. If you need something that breathes well, look for those pit zips. thanks.
Armpits Are Way Too Tight
Angel Wing Movement is a great idea, but the fabric on the armpits is cut way too tight. It cuts into the skin. This is a huge disappointment because I have worn Marmot jackets for years. My old soft shell was in service for about 8 yrs before it recently gave out. It had angel wing movement too, but there was more room between the fabric and my armpit. I'm 5'7 and 155 lbs with a medium build, so it's not like I'm abnormally big... Also, I've tried Marmot's Sharp Point jacket, and it was too tight as well. Unfortunately, this seems like either defective engineering or manufacturing. Only, if this is they way Marmot designs their jackets now, I can't wear them anymore, and they've probably lost me as a customer. It sure is expensive trying to find out if they've fixed the problem.
