Excellent piece
This product is an excellent wind jacket--very light in weight and in insulation. It is good for 1. layering and 2. active endeavors where you need windproof protection. For example, if you are working hard hiking up to a pass, and it gets chilly, this is a good piece to throw on to prevent wind from hitting your damp shirt. However, you should know that this is not really a jacket to keep warm in while sitting around camp. If you're looking for something like that, you should examine the lightweight "puffy" jackets--i.e. Patagonia's down sweater. If you are looking for a mix between a wind piece with slightly more insulation and a piece to wear while active, look for a synthetic insulated ultralight jacket. Having said that, I've been reasonably warm while using this during the sierra summer nights/mornings, when it's chilly before the sun warms things up. It's also reasonably water-resistant, and has helped when unexpected showers have hit.
LIGHT AND PROTECTED
ALL AROUND LIGHT JACKET GREAT FOR OUTDOOR WEATHER NOT TO HOT IN THE STORES OR WALKING IN THE MALLS . VERY TRUSTWORTHY EVEN IF YOU GET CAUGHT OUTDOORS IN EXTREME COLD MY WIFE ALWAY SAY,S IS THAT ALL YOUR GOING TO WEAR?THIS IS ALL I NEED BABE.
Awesome!
I bought this jacket for my husband and he absolutely loves it. It's so warm, yet not bulky. He wears it everywhere. It's a great casual coat, a great hiking coat, and very packable. As some of the other reviews commented on, front pockets would great, but the coat is so awesome you can live without them.
Nothing can be said
that has not already been said over and over in these reviews. Its magic and amazing. Totally worth the price. The only way I would improve it is to make it more durable for rock climbing, maybe have schoeller dryskin patches on the elbows and shoulders?
Versatile and Must Have for your closet
I was looking for something an old Nike running jacket as it didn't seem to fit my needs anymore(not as breathable and no longer water resistant). I used the Driclime shirt for a week and it was exactly what I wanted for chilly morning runs. When the weather turned warm, I thought I would have to put it away for the season, but found myself using it everyday during the light rain and variable, transitional weather. I also went on a recent business trip and instead of taking a sweater for the flight or very cold air conditioned places, I packed this. Like other, I could see how this could be paired with other layers depending on your activity or the weather. And the best thing, the water resistant properties are mechanical and not chemical. This means the water resistant feature won't be impacted by the washing machine - which is what I think what happened to my old running jacket.
