The warmest glove/mittens I've tried!In searching for the warmest gloves, I've tried many to find that gloves won't cut it at all for me(I've bad circulation&my hands are always cold).Mittens keep them warmer -with trapping body heat- much better than gloves.Although mittens aren't as functional.This Mammut gloves/mittens is the perfect solution for warmth plus functionality!They're super warm for the weight and highly functional. As for size, the diameter of my hand around my knuckles is approx 19 cm(7.5 inches) and length from tip to wrist is approx 18 cm and the size 8 is great with just a little room. If yours is any smaller, I'd go with the 6.

Very good gloves
I love these gloves, very good one. Easy to put and to remove, nice cap when its windy. very confortable. the only drawback is the durability (about 1 year of intensive use)

Mammut Glittens
These gloves are pretty solid. The windstopper fabric does an excellent job of blocking wind. They are not very warm, although I didn't expect them to be. The mitten part of the glove is pretty floppy, as they placed the velcro for the fold-over pretty low, rather than at the end (toward the fingertips), which is kind of annoying. Overall, pretty pleased.

Mammut's excellent take on the glomit
As the other reviewer said these gloves are excellent at blocking the wind. Please keep in mind they are rather thin however, so will not provide great insulation in really cold weather. The only real complaint I have is that the mitt part of the glove flops around too much when pulled back. Finally, Altrec's size chart for Mammut gloves is a bit messed up. I bought size 12 which were roughly equivalent to a XXL glove by standard sizing.

great for blocking the wind, not water-resistant
I bought these gloves following advice from a friend, who rides her bike to work every day during the winter as well. My hands tend to get really cold, and I had tried several gloves in the past, with poor results. The Mammut Shelter Ultimate Gloves are much better than any other glove I tried before. They completely stop wind, and my hands do not freeze while being outdoors for prolonged periods of time. They fit snugly and make your hands less clumsy than your usual winter glove does. The fold-back openings are a cool feature as well. The only thing that prevented me from giving them five stars is that last week I walked with them during a storm, and they turned out not to be completely waterproof. My hands were not soaked, but they were definitively wet.
