great light softshell wind stopper!
This softshell windstopper is a great looking, great wearing jacket! lots of style and not too warm when the days are 50's-60's, and warm enough as a softshell with a sweatshirt underneath for evenings in the 40's.

A true climbers jacket!
I was using Marmot's Super Hero jacket but on a whim decided to buy the Ultimate Hoody. It's $75 less and in my opinion, you get a lot more for less. It's lighter, more form fitting, and the hood is perfect. I'm 5'10/170# and the large fits great.

bomber!
This jacket is absolutely outstanding. It can take anything you throw at it: It laughs in the face of wind, sheds snow, rain rolls right off, and it is impervious to sharp rocks and brush. As a member a search and rescue organization in the Cascade mountains I was looking for a soft shell that could do everything... This is that jacket. enough vents to take you from a summer day in the foot hills, yet warm enough to get you up Rainier and Baker. The fabric is also completely bomber, easily handling gnarly offwidth cracks and heavy bushwhacking. It also looks good around town!

This jacket is perfect!
First, let it be known I am a jacket-hound. That being said, I've got quite a few to compare this to(HH, North Face, Orage, Marmont, Arteryx etc) so when I say this jacket is perfect I mean it. It is light and easily packable. It is also perfect for keeping dry when standing next to spring thaw waterfalls in Mt. It certainly cuts the chill out of any winds, yet doesn't allow you to overheat. The side zips are unique and I could not find many jackets that offered this feature. I sweat when I'm working so being able to cool down is a plus and eliminates odor retention. Bottom line, if you are active and want a shell that can multi-purpose and look awesome at the same time then this is it. Runs small so keep that in mind. I'm borderline medium (5'9 42in chest, 33 sleeve) and had to go large on this and sleeves are about 1/2 inch to inch too long but not when my arms are extended. Thumb loops a definite plus as well.
